Study Tools

2 Timothy 2:15

"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." ~kjv

One of the most effective tools and weapons we have is knowing the Word of God. It's how we grow, increase, and thrive as a believer in the world today.  But how do you know something you only read when the preacher or teacher reads it?  You don't!  You have to study the Word.  Meditate on it, and hide it in your heart.  It increases your faith and draws you close to God at the same time. It is a rod of correction, but it's also comfort and safety.

I use a few different avenues to study.  Here are a list of a few and the links to their sites if they are on the internet.

1. Bible Gateway   http://www.biblegateway.com/
You can access many versions on the bible including the Amplified and the NIV, which are great for      studying.

2. Blue Letter Bible  http://www.blueletterbible.com/
This is also a great site. It has good study tools and commentaries on scriptures to help put the Word in context. You can also find a bible dictionary and Strong's Concordance there.

3. Prayer   - Ask God to open up His Word and give you understanding.  Ask Him to help you apply it to your life and help others.

This list isn't exhaustive and I will be adding more as we go along. ~God bless
